Scalloped Potatoes

Indulge in creamy, cheesy scalloped potatoes, layered with Dairy Farmers Shredded Mozzarella and Shredded Tasty Cheddar.

50g butter butter
2cloves garlic, crushed
2 kgpotatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
1tspSea salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1tspFreshly grated nutmeg, to taste
125gDairy Farmers Shredded Mozzarella
125gDairy Farmers Shredded Tasty Cheddar
750mlDairy Farmers Cooking Cream
1tbspFresh herbs, for garnish (optional)

Methods

Melt the butter and garlic together.

Brush a 1/2 gastronorm pan or individual gratin dishes with the butter mixture.

Step 03.

Start by arranging a layer of potato slices evenly on the bottom of the pan.

Step 04.

Season the first layer of potatoes with salt, pepper and nutmeg.

Step 05.

Combine Dairy Farmers Shredded Tasty Cheddar and Shredded Mozzarella, and sprinkle evenly over the seasoned potato layer.

Step 06.

Drizzle Dairy Farmers Cooking Cream over the potatoes.

Step 07.

Repeat the process until all potato layers are complete.

Step 08.

Finish with the combined cheese mixture and cream on top.

Step 09.

Cover with foil and bake at 160°C for 40 minutes.

Step 10.

Remove foil and bake for a further 40-50 minutes until tender and golden. Individual dishes may take less time to cook.

For each serving
Portion into individual dishes. Garnish with herbs, if using.
